The Bel Air Knights of Columbus Council # 4714 hosted their annual Soccer Shoot-Out on October 14, 2007 at The John Carroll School.
This is the first year Bel Air Council has teamed with John Carroll. It was a great event on many levels. It provided an opportunity for the Bel Air Council to work with John Carroll students in a sporting competition for the community as well as providing a service opportunity for the students. Our Council had six winners compete at the District level event graciously hosted by John Carroll. Three Council Champions won their age groups; Anthony Bradley, Grant Stefan, and Stephanie Imbierowicz. These three District Champions again competed in the Maryland State Competition with Grant and Stephanie both placing second in their age category.
The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic family fraternal service organization with 1.7 million members in over 13,500 local councils. Last year, Knights donated 60 million volunteer hours and $130 million to charitable and benevolent causes, sponsoring projects to benefit their Church, communities, councils, families and youth. Working with John Carroll, the Bel Air Council continues this tradition of serving the community and providing an example to students about service to others.
John Carroll and the Bel Air Knights of Columbus Council #4714 will be hosting a Free Throw championship in January at The John Carroll School.
