The installation of our Officers started this fraternal year on July 19th. The Auxiliaries' Lady of the Year was voted on in May and presented to the Council at the installation of officers. The following events as well as named Organizations mentioned were selected by the Executive committee of the group and voted on by the general membership.

Anna's House: A Catholic Charities shelter in Harford County for abused women and their children. The Ladies bring paper and cleaning products on a quarterly basis that are delivered to the shelter along with a cash contribution for their use. For Christmas the Ladies donated gift cards from area stores for the residents to purchase gifts for their own families, as well as a visit from Santa and gifts for each of the children and their Moms.

Four Seasons Assisted Living: On a monthly basis Knights Ladies as well as their families visits this facility in downtown Bel Air. The group plays bingo with prizes for all of the winners, sings songs and visits with the residents. Refreshments are provided as ice-cream and cake, and everyone enjoys this one-on one time.

Birthright Pregnancy Resource Center: Cash donations to support this organization are not the only way our Ladies support this organization. During our July and December meetings the Ladies bring items the center request such as diapers, lotions, wipes etc. As a special gift some of our ladies crochet and knit blankets, sweater sets and little hats to be presented to the center.

Flower Garden: As you face St. Margaret's church the garden at the main entrance has a sign identifying the Bel Air Knights Ladies garden. The garden is maintained by a number of our Ladies, planting annuals and watering and weeding the garden during the growing season. As a statue of St. Francis, donated by a family of the council, is the center of the garden this enables St. Margaret's Church to use the garden for their annual Blessing of the Animals.

Bagged Lunches for the Homeless: One Sunday of each month will find our Ladies participating with St. Margaret's parishioners in preparing lunches for the area homeless. Sixty bagged lunches are prepared and delivered to the area homeless shelters. The Ladies Auxiliary provides monthly support to this endeavor.

Sparrows House: A safe haven for pregnant girls in Harford County. An annual monetary contribution is given to this organization to further their goals to assist young women during difficult times making very difficult decisions. A representative from the group enlightens us at a meeting of the good the group does and the monetary gift is presented at that time.

Birthday Celebration: August of 2009 we celebrated all of the Members Birthdays at a local restaurant, "Mamies" in Aberdeen, MD. . The dinner included party hats, horns, balloons and of course birthday cake. This is our way of thanking the Ladies for all that they have done to make the Auxiliary so successful.

Oktoberfest: October 17 we celebrated the Fall season with sour-beef and dumplings, sauerkraut and all the other fixings of a German meal. Music and dancing was part of the evening to help work off all of the food. This was a fund-raiser that brought in $1,200 to assist in our charitable giving.

Veteran's Appreciation: November brings Veteran's day to our Ladies group. We collected toiletries and Sweat Suits for the Perry Point Medical Center. The items were then delivered via a Christmas party to the residents along with songs, cake and ice-cream and other holiday goodies.

December 6: Our Christmas Party: A catered dinner at our Council enabled us time to relax and get ready for the upcoming month. Centerpieces were made for each table and later used for the Council's New Year's Eve party. Santa made an appearance and token gifts of chocolates was given to all that attended. Some pictures were taken with Santa as we sang Christmas carols. We were all in the spirit of things at the end of the dinner.

To go along with that we baked 120 mini-loafs of bread with a special message from us to support the first Communicants endeavor.

March 29: A special presentation of Amelia Earhart by Maryann Jung coupled with a smorgasbord dinner put lots of smiles on the faces of our ladies as well as our guests. The cost was minimum, $6, plus a donation to the table so dinner and a show made for a great evening with some history of our Nation on the side.

Confirmation Candidates: This is our fourth year participating with St. Margaret's Confirmation Candidates in their journey to becoming Catholic Adults We provide a small gift to each candidate and join them on a retreat into Baltimore. We also pray at each meeting for their journey into becoming an adult Catholic.

Boodry Vineyard 5/8: A pre-Mother's Day celebration. A picnic lunch, wine tasting and listening to live music, that is how our ladies celebrated the day before the holiday. A special gift was given to all of the ladies as they shared a wonderful lunch visited the wine rooms and just enjoyed themselves.

Annual May Celebration: Our council celebrates May via an old fashion May Procession. As the Color Guard lines the way the Ladies President crowns a statue of the Blessed Virgin with a ring of Flowers. We sing a number of songs dedicated to our Mother and then proceed to the council hall for socializing.

Harford County Homeless 5/29: We were invited to assist St. Margaret's Church in the feeding of the Homeless of Harford County. We purchased all of the makings for a dinner for 20-30 persons living in the center, cooked the dinner then served and clean-up their facilities. In addition 30 lunches were prepared for the next day as well as having breakfast foods available for the residents.

Other Activities: To further assist our local community the Ladies collect aluminum pull tables, cancelled stamps and Campbell's labels to support local schools and Ronald McDonald House.

Weekly Bingo: The Ladies are part of the Council's weekly Bingo teams of the Knights. Our Ladies sell the games, verify winners, and assist in cooking and the clean-up of the hall. This is the biggest fundraiser the men's group has. One game is exclusive for the benefit of the Ladies group that we sell ourselves.
